I am not sure if you could setup email without BIS or BES. But if you were able to setup email, such as gmail, at your device without BIS or BES, one more requirement is SMS. To complete the regsitration, you need input your device phone number. After registration, SMS is not necessary any more since you could get instantly delviery via personal blackberry email, BES email or gmail. But you will not able to send video to a phone number since it requires SMS. Thanks,

Sprint, I really don't think the service provider has to do with my problem. It's right after I install and reboot, the icon for youcast is on my phone but when I click to open it, it does nothing.

It was reported that some apps conflict with YouCast. Please check the following:

1) Update YouCast version to 1.0.7 or up at http://m.youcast.net/blackberry.html

2) Check your device if there are any software using SMS. Probably they are exclusively locking down sms port. Please ask the vendor to use DatagramConnection instead of MessageConnection.
